This virtual workshop will review the SNF QRP reports from CASPER that provides information about the Medicare Part A stays in your SNF. It will also explore factors impacting SNF PPS assessment schedule, PDPM basics, and consolidating billing that can impact the financial facet of the facility. It also explains Medicare eligibility, coverage, and skilling criteria. The completion of the MDS is becoming more difficult and confusing, this workshop will help clear up the confusion surrounding this process. This workshop is geared towards those individuals working in long-term care who have a leadership role such as the ADM, DON, ADON or MDS Coordinator.

Presenters

Crystal Plank, BSN, RN, RAC-CTA, Clinical Educator, University of MO-Sinclair School of Nursing. Crystal has worked in LTC for the past 21 years and is currently providing quality improvement consultation assistance with QIPMO. Her in-depth knowledge is concentrated in state and federal regulations, LTC infection control practices, and all aspects of the RAI process. She has expertise in MDS 3.0, reimbursement (Medicare and Medicaid), and LTC regulatory compliance. She is certified as a Resident Assessment Coordinator (RAC-CT).

Carol Siem

MSN, RN, BC, GNP, RAC-CTA, Clinical Educator, University of MO-Sinclair School of Nursing. She provides clinical consultation to MO nursing homes and has more than 35 years experience working with the geriatric population in hospital-based skilled nursing facilities and acute rehabilitation units. A member of the MU-MDS Quality Research Team, Carol frequently presents on various topics throughout the state. She served on the Board of Directors for AANAS, and was Chair of the Board for three years. AANAC represents more than 16,000 individuals working in long term care.

Attire for MHCA seminars is business casual; we recommend you dress in layers as meeting room temperatures may vary.

Registration/Payment

Pre-registration is required for all workshops. Payment/registration must be received by noon the day before the workshop begins. Company checks are money orders should be made payable to MHCA. Credit card payments are accepted, we accept Visa, MasterCard & American Express. We do not accept personal checks.

Cancellations/Refunds

Refunds will be issued to registrants who cancel in writing within 48 hours of the workshop. Cancellations received after this time and no-shows will be charged the full registration fee.
