Missouri Announcements: QIO/IDR changes, industry trends report

QIO Change/Potential IDR Change

Change is coming for Missouri’s Medicare designated Quality Improvement Organization (QIO). Effective November 7, 2024, Health Quality Innovators will no longer be Missouri’s QIO. Missouri law requires DHSS to use the QIO for the IDR process. Accordingly, a change in the IDR facilitator is likely. CMS has not named a new QIO and may not until December or later. Once named, DHSS will contact the new QIO about contracting with DHSS for the IDR process. In the interim, if HQI is amenable, DHSS will look to it for IDR. DHSS is aware the last time the QIO changed it took months to get contracts in place, causing IDR delay. It is conceivable the same IDR personnel will contract to administer IDR. Stay tuned!
