Life Safety Code Regulation Info
LA MO members indicate difficulty in finding Life Safety Code regulations. However, most code references relied on by surveyors are printed on the bottom of tags in the 2786R? Further, this document serves as a reference to all Life Safety Code tags. Emergency preparedness requirements appear in Appendix Z. Members are urged to review Appendix Z to ensure compliance. The review of examples found there supports better Life Safety compliance.
QIO Change/Potential IDR Change
Change is coming for Missouri’s Medicare designated Quality Improvement Organization (QIO). Effective November 7, 2024, Health Quality Innovators will no longer be Missouri’s QIO. Missouri law requires DHSS to use the QIO for the IDR process. Accordingly, a change in the IDR facilitator is likely. CMS has not named a new QIO and may not until December or later. Once named, DHSS will contact the new QIO about contracting with DHSS for the IDR process. In the interim, if HQI is amenable, DHSS will look to it for IDR. DHSS is aware the last time the QIO changed it took months to get contracts in place, causing IDR delay. It is conceivable the same IDR personnel will contract to administer IDR. Stay tuned!
