Membership investments paid to LeadingAge Missouri are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes; however, they may be deductible as necessary and ordinary business expenses. A portion of the investment, however, is not deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense to the extent that the association engages in industry lobbying. The non-deductible portion is 5%.
